PASSOVER - A FEAST OF FREEDOM

פסח

Evening of April 6th, 2012 - Nightfall April 13th, 2012 (Hebrew Year 5772)

The seven-day festival of Passover is celebrated
in the early spring. It commemorates the emancipation of the Israelites from
slavery in the land of Egypt. By celebrating the Passover we are
being reminded every year that we all are descended of slaves and that is by the grace of God and by His Mighty Arm that our ancestors granted their freedom and liberty…

Purim is one of the most joyous and fun
holidays in the Hebrew calender. The festival of Purim commemorates a miraculous time and some wonderful turn of events that came upon the Jews to save them from a holocaust that was about to happen back when
the Jewish people lived under Persian Empire rule and the Jews suffered from terrible antisemitism.

The story of Purim is told in the Bible, in the book of
Esther...

Chanukkah the festival of lights!

Chanukkah the festival of lights
December 21, 2011 - December 28, 2011 (Jewish Year 5772)

The story of Chanukkah begins at about 200 BC when
Jerusalem and the Land of Judea were under the rule of the Greek
Empire.
Originally, the Jewish people had been granted religious freedom and coexisted with the Greeks. However, some Jews resented the foreign
control over their land and despised the Hellenistic influence over
their culture; those resentful Jews started to reorganize under the
name: “The Maccabees”. The reorganization of the Jews angered the
Greeks but not much changed at first...

The Festival of SUKKOT - The Joyful Time

The festival of “Sukkot” also known as the “Feast of Tabernacles”
October 13, 2011 - October 19, 2011 (Jewish Year 5772)

The joyous festival of “Sukkot” commemorates the forty year journey of
the Children of Israel through the desert coming to the Promised Land;
during this time, they lived in temporary shelters, called "Sukkot".

This festival has an agricultural element as well. It celebrates the
harvest season; the time of the final ingathering of produce before the
oncoming winter; therefore, it is also being called the “Festival of
Ingathering” (Hag HaAsif).

Historically, “Sukkot” was the biggest celebration in the Land of Israel
and the happiest time of the year. The feast starts 5 days after “Yom
Kippur” and lasts seven days.

It is a commandment in the Torah to celebrate this festival every year, throughout all generations, forever!

According to the prophet Zechariah, in the “Messianic Era” the feast of
“Sukkot” will become a universal festival and all nations of the Earth
will make pilgrimages annually to Jerusalem to celebrate the Holiday
there...

YOM KIPPUR; May Your Name Be Inscribed and Sealed in The Book Of Life!

evening October 7, 2011 - evening October 8,
2011 (Jewish Year 5772)

Traditionally, “Yom Kippur” is considered to be the holiest day of the
year.

In Hebrew, “Yom Kippur” means, literally, Day of Atonement or day of
reconciliation.

The purpose of "Yom Kippur" is to bring about reconciliation
between one person to another and between each person to God…

The ten days
leading up to "Yom Kippur" are known as the Ten Days of Repentance. During this
period we are encouraged to seriously seek out each other’s forgiveness and
enter “Yom Kippur” with a lighter burden so when we stand before God and ask for
His forgiveness our request will be granted.

According to Jewish tradition,
it is also the day when God decides the fate of each living soul and seals it in
the “Book of Life”.

It is a commandment in the Torah to keep this holiday every
year, throughout all generations, forever!
Le Shanah Tovah YOM TERUAH!

Commonly known as "Rosh Hashanah" or the Jewish New Year.

September 29, 2011 Jewish Year 5772

According to Jewish tradition
"Rosh Hashanah" marks the anniversary of the creation of mankind. The
year number on the Jewish calendar represents the number of years since
Adam, the first man; scholars have calculated the number of years by
adding up the ages of the people in the Bible back to the time of Adam.
However, this does not necessarily mean that Jews claim that the
universe has existed for only 5770 years (as we understand years). Most
scholars acknowledge that the first “six days" of creation could have
not been measured in terms of earthly days; at least until the creation
of our solar system on the “fourth day". One day of creation might be
compared to billions of earth years or maybe just to a split earthly
second; earthly time was meaningless at that point.

That is all tradition and is not supported by solid biblical
references; it might be true or not. However, the commonly known name of
this Holiday “Rosh Hashanah” presents some problems!

Don't Confuse Religion with God!

Don't Confuse Religion with
God!

All religions were created by men; God did not create any religion! - Yet, it is
absolutely not wrong for people to reorganize and assemble themselves when they
share similar traditions, faiths and values. However, a true believer should
also have first and for most a personal and private relationship with his Creator and that is
absolutely a separate and different thing than religion. Just beware of
religious deceivers who are teaching in vain false doctrine; of those who are acting
as if they are mediators between you and your God, of those that will
teach you to act in blind faith, of those that are preaching arrogance and hate!
